Yes the MAN2MAN Program has entered the world of Twitter! For those of you who are not familiar with Twitter, it is a real-time information network that connects the user to the latest information on a Twitter account that you may be interested in, or are following. At the heart of Twitter are small bursts (140 characters long) of information called 'tweets'.
By using Twitter we are hoping to connect with MAN2MAN Program followers in real-time and quickly share information with these followers. For example, we are using Twitter to notify followers of upcoming dates for the MAN2MAN Live and Local dinner sessions, and to the regional visits by program staff, allowing them to register for the release of new issues of MAN2MAN magazine of to form magazine advisory groups or focus groups on certain issues down the track.
Through Twitter MAN2MAN is also able to use this technology for sms to connect directly via sms to anyone with a mobile phone that is a follower of the site.
